Versioning

Versioning in VisualDrive Server keeps a history of changes made to files, allowing you to view or restore previous versions when needed.

How versioning works​

Each time a file is modified, a new version is automatically saved to VisualDrive Server. Older versions are kept in accordance with the retention policy configured by your administrator and are automatically removed once the retention period expires. By default, previous versions are kept for 90 days.

All version history is stored on the server, so it does not consume any space on your local device.

Version management​

You can manage file versions directly from the web interface. This includes the ability to:

  • Download the contents of older versions
  • Restore a previous version of a file
  • Delete versions that are no longer needed
